Jason R. Fiske, 37, of Minden appeared in Kearney County Court December 8 to accept a plea agreement with the honorable Judge Michael Mead presiding.
The charge against Fiske, one count of unintentional misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide by driving carelessly, was the result of a three vehicle accident on Highway 6&34 June 8 in which Neil Jurgens, 62, of Minden was pronounced dead.
The agreement read that in exchange for a no contest or guilty plea to the charge, the state would recommend 18 months probation with 30 days in jail to follow with the possibility of waiving the jail term and mandatory ADD or similar course attendance. It was also understood that Fiske’s operator’s permit would not be suspended by the state, but that as a result of his plea 12 points would be taken from his driving record and his license would be suspended for 6 months.
