Flames of Nebraska 18u Red Hots Earn Runner-up at Nebraska USSSA Fall State

Flames of Nebraska 18u Red Hots pitcher Lauren Dick throws a perfect game Vs. Nebraska Stealth Perez 18u this past weekend with catcher Brynn Baily and the team’s great defense, winning the Nebraska USSSA Fall State in Bellevue Runner-up spot. Dick threw 8 strikeouts out of 12 outs in a mercy 10-0 4-inning win for the Red Hots.

The Stealth came back through the loser bracket scoring all their runs in the first inning to go ahead before Red Hots clawed their way back for the win 6-4 to go to the championship game, did not score in the bottom of the 1st, then scored 1 run in both the 2nd and 3rd inning the loser facing elimination. Bottom of the last inning Red Hots scored 2 to tie it up with no outs and two on when Ashlyn Kottwitz hit a double scoring the two on base to seal the win. Kottwitz 2 RBIs, Baily, and Ellie Reichstein, 1 RBIs lead the Red Hots hitters going 2 for 2, and Kaidyn Whitmire adds a hit with  2 RBIs.

In the Championship Red Hots earned runner-up to Nebraska Venom Parson/Hislop, which is the only team the Red Hots lost to over the weekend.
