Giles Anderson Brown, 88, of Grand Island, passed away on May 14,2022, at his home. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 20th at 1 pm at All Faiths Funeral Home, with family greeting friends for one hour prior. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial followed at 3:30 p.m. at the Minden Cemetery.
Giles was born on February 25, 1934 in Minden to Harry and Leanna (Anderson) Brown. He was raised and received his education in the Minden area, graduating from Minden High School. After high school, Giles enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country until 1956.
Giles was united in marriage to Mary Ann Richeal. Five children were born into this union, Barry, Blake, Bruce, Becky, and Bunny Sue. Giles later married Ko Ann Sherrill, and was blessed with two more children, Tony and Dana.
Giles was a realtor until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles and Elks Clubs, and the VFW. In September 2014, Giles went on the Hero Flight with his son, Dana. In his spare time, Giles enjoyed photography, traveling, and going to Hastings on Sundays to go dancing. Giles was proud of his travels, and took the opportunity to travel whenever possible.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Barry (Bonnie) Brown of Grand Island, Bruce (Tammy Johnson) Brown of Grand Island, Becky Anchor of Hastings, Tony (Mindy) Spires of CO, and Dana Brown of Omaha; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great, great granddaughter.
Giles was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; two children, Blake and Bunny Sue; brother, Jerry; and sister, Dionee.
Memorials are suggested either to the Alzheimer’s Association, or to the family for later designation.
