Hawkins Takes Fifth at State

he Axtell Wildcats wrestling team traveled to Omaha for state tournament action on Feb.16-18. The Wildcats gave it their all and finished 35 out of 66 schools with an overall score of 17.

Ashton Hawkins (40-12) was the standout for the Wildcats placing fifth place at the 220 weight class. Taaron Lavicky’s (48-3) hot streak came to an end suffering two losses.

It was a fantastic season for the Axtell wrestling team who will look to take the momentum built from this season and apply it next year!
