Hildreth Plans Three Days Of Events For 125-year Celebration
Hildreth will soon be celebrating its 125th anniversary. They have planned three days of events for people of all ages, including parades, races, games and lots of food.
Hildreth was first settled by German immigrants around 1873. But the village really got off the ground in 1885 when the railroad arrived. With major support from Carson Hildreth, the town was incorporated in 1886.
Hildreth’s population passed 600 in the early 1900s but now hovers between 360-400.
The celebration will begin on Friday, July 1, with a dinner at Wilcox-Hildreth Middle School and will culminate Sunday evening with a fireworks show at the park.
The complete schedule is listed below. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call 308-938- 4035. Pre-paid tickets can be picked up at the door.
