John Lee Dyke, 60, of Minden passed away on February 18th, 2020 at St Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln. John chose to make the ultimate gift of donating his body to science in hopes they can learn from him and help others in the future. According to John’s wishes there will be no funeral services but his family would be honored if you joined them at Windmill Studios (521 North Colorado in Minden) on February 29th from 2-5 pm to celebrate John’s life. Memorials are recommended to the family or Nebraska Heart Institute. Craig Funeral Home is assisting the family.
John was born August 4th, 1959 in Minden NE to Dennis and Donna (Davidson) Dyke. He grew up in Minden, graduated from MHS in 1977 and continued to live there throughout his life.
As a teenager John worked at Bunger Processing and Meat Locker where he remained employed for over 23 years. He then worked for and with his long time friend, PJ Stec, at Hastings Pawn for the remainder of his life.
John is survived by his mother Donna Dyke, brother Jerry Dyke, sister Jolene Jenner, all of Minden; niece Sarah (and Jacob) Brandt, great nephew Anthony Brandt of Kearney, Marilyn Dyke of Minden, numerous cousins and extended family.
He was proceeded in death by father Dennis Dyke, uncles Chuck (Bud) and Jim Dyke, aunt Patsy (Davidson) Moreau; grandparents Elmer and Dorothy Davidson, Charles Dyke and Doris Hagadorn, and nephew Robert Jenner.
