The Aurora Cooperative Junior Legion baseball team made short work of the Overton Bandits on June 20 at home at Ollie Bjorklund Field.
The Juniors picked up the 11-2 victory to improve to 5-6 on the season. This begins the first of a five game difficult stretch for AC.
JC McDowell got the win pitching three of the five innings. McDowell struck out five, walked two and allowed three hits. Ben Edgecombe was the starter pitching the first two allowing two runs on three hits with a strikeout and two walks.
AC got off to a quick start when Jay Maska made it to first on a dropped third strike and stole second and moved to third on a passed ball. Marshall Chasek reached on an error which scored Maska. Chasek scored on a hit ruled an error by Jake Wehrer to make it 2-0.
