KAAPA Hearing Date Set

KAAPA Ethanol’s refund claim for overpayment of the 2006 personal property taxes will be heard in Kearney County District court on Wednesday, September 1.
Kearney County Attorney Dave Wondra informed the Kearney County Board of Supervisors of the hearing date at Tuesday, July 20 regular meeting.   District Judge Ellingsworth will hear the appeal at 11:00 a.m.
KAAPA Ethanol filed the refund claim for the 2006 overpayment of personal property taxes with the district court following the board of supervisor’s December 8 denial of the 2006 refund claim of $484,411.50.
The 2006 KAAPA claim is similar to KAAPA’s 2007 tax claim in which processing equipment was taxed as both real and personal property.
