The Kearney County Health Services Board of Trustees met July 29. Robert Junk from Junk Architects, Austin Funk and Keith Sunderman from Beckenhauer Construction provided an update of the Clinic/CT construction project.
At this time, most of the change orders to the project are minor and initiated by KCHS based on their preferences. The biggest change with the project is the addition of the exterior canopy project adding $613,000 to the total project cost, still under the total approved financing amount. Also highlighted was a change to the clinic entrance interior. Rather than keeping an entrance vestibule/airlock, the interior door will be removed to provide more space and open up the lobby area.
Work on the canopy project will begin this week. There will be lane closures marked on First Street and Hull Avenue during part of the project. The exterior work is scheduled to be completed at the end of November.
