Kearney County Offers A Contract To Bellamy For Attorney Position

The Kearney County Board of Supervisors held their second meeting of month on Aug. 21 at the courthouse.
The Supervisors had three applicants interview for the vacant Kearney County Attorney position since the departure of Neleigh Korth who left to work for the Nebraska Health And Human Services.
Melodie T. Bellamy of Kearney was offered a contract by the board after a 25-minute executive session in which Bellamy and acting Kearney County Attorney Brian McQuay were included in discussions.
Bellamy is currently serving as Deputy Buffalo County Attorney and has been in that position for 12 years.
The board discussed setting a Special Meeting to hold the Budget Hearing for the fiscal year 2012-13. The board agreed upon holding the meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 9:30 a.m.
