Kristensen, Boldt Medal For Minden
s played on Oct. 8-9 at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus. Fifteen teams qualified via district play in addition to individual qualification that brought the total field to 96 players. Minden entered play as the C-4 district champions. Other district champions included Norfolk Catholic, Ogallala, Grand Island Central Catholic and Omaha Brownell-Talbot. Minden won the district by shooting a 403 at Wild Horse in Gothenburg.
Monday’s weather was warm with a mild breeze out of the southwest. Minden began the state tournament off on a fairly good note. Ashton Boldt led the way shooting a 93 for the day. Her round of 50 on the back nine was followed by an outstanding front nine score of 43. Paige Kristensen followed close behind shooting a front nine score of 43 and coming back with a 53 on the back nine for a 96 total. Jessica Rehtus carded a 104 on the day one and Mariah Koch completed the day one with a 106 total. Allie Geist shot a 110 on the first day rounds to complete the Whippet scoring. Minden was sitting in fifth place, in the 15-team field, after the first day of competition.
