Kuehn Places First at York

The Minden boys wrestling team traveled to York high school on December 3rd. It was a competitive outing with many schools in attendance such as York, Lincoln Pius X Burke, Fairbury, Central City, Concordia, Northwest, Omaha Westside, Papillion-La Vista South and Waverly. 

Daulton Kuehn placed first at the 285 weight class after securing pinfalls in his first two matches against Lincoln Pius X and Waverly. In the first place championship round, it came down to a tiebreaker with Kuehn prevailing over Kadence Velde from York High School with a 3-2 decision. Robert Nelson (132) was runner up for his weight class as he came up just short against Waverly’s Brayden Canoyer losing by pinfall at 4:25. Orrin Kuehn (145) finished second for his weight class coming up short against Kemper Reed of Waverly High School. Braxton Janda (182) placed second in his weight class. Dylan Hernandez (106), Cade Harsin (120), Koltdyn Heath (126) all earned victories at the invitational. 

Minden will look to continue their strong start to the season when the Whippets host a dual against Wood River Rural on December 8 at 7:00 PM.
