Lady Cats Defeat Overton

The Axtell Lady Cats basketball team had three players score in double figures on Friday to get a Fort Kearny Conference road victory over the Overton Eagles.
Axtell improved its record to 4-0 with a 34 point victory over Overton, 65-31.
Hailey Kring led three Axtell players in double figures with 16 points and eight steals. Sara Fecht scored a season-high 13 points while grabbing five rebounds and five steals. Mariah Popple added 12 points while Shala Nelson had eight points and eight assists.
The Lady Cats left little doubt who was the best team on the court in the first eight minutes of action. Axtell lit up the score board with 19 points while holding the Eagles to only two points and entered the second period with a commanding 17 point edge.
