Lady Cats Win Three At Invite Improve Record To 22-2

The Axtell Lady Cats volleyball team hosted the Axtell Invitational on Saturday, sweeping three matches to improve its record to 22-2???.
The Lady Cats picked up three wins over Elwood, St. Mary’s and Litchfield.
The Lady Cats defeated Fort Kearny Conference foe the Elwood Pirates in two sets by scores of 27-25 and 25-16. Leading the Cats was Shala Nelson with ten kills followed by Hailey Kring with five and Popple four.
Shaila Fox and Gabby Knoble had ten ace sets and nine assists respectively. Kring added four ace serves while Lexi Klauz-Rohde had seven digs and Kring had five. Klauz-Rohde and Popple each had two ace blocks.
The Cats scored another victory over the Litchfield Trojans in two sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-13. Nelson reached double-figures again in kills with 11 followed by Popple with eight, Kring seven, Klauz-Rohde five and Knoble one.
