Lady Falcons Lose In FKC Finals To Amherst

The Wilcox-Hildreth Lady Falcons magical 2011 Fort Kearny Conference run came to an end on Saturday in the girls final at the Viaero Events Center.
The Cinderella run by the seventh-seeded Falcons was ended by the top-seeded Amherst Broncos in a defensive battle, 40-33.
The Falcons (10-10) were led by Morgan Farley with a team-high 13 points, 15 rebounds and three steals. Michaela Hinrichs added 12 rebounds, three steals and eight points and Jessica Harms chipped in with six.
The Falcons and Broncos found things tough going in the opening period as the teams were deadlocked at 6-6.
In the second stanza, the Falcons took a narrow two point lead by outscoring Amherst 9-7 to go into halftime holding a 15-13 lead.
