Lady Whippets Finish Regular Season With Victory Over Wood River

Minden’s girls concluded a very successful regular season winning at Wood River 75-41 on February 9 to rise to 18-4. The 75 points were a season-high.

Wood River led for about 3 1/2 minutes at the start of the game but once the Whippets went ahead the margin steadily grew. Kinsie Land scored seven and Trin-

ity Houchin five in the first quarter as Minden led 16-10. The outcome of the contest was determined in a stretch of about five minutes spanning the first and sec- ond periods when an 18-3 run ballooned Minden’s lead from 11-10 to 29-13. The half ended with the Whippets up 40-22. Mattie Kamery had 10 points and Land and

Myla Emery five each.
Minden had great third quarter and by the end of

the third had a 60-33 lead. Kamery (6) and Emery (5) topped the scoring in the period.

Houchin hit her third three on the night right away in the fourth quarter and the final score was the Whip- pets’ largest lead in the game. Rozie Nelson connected on a three, Land scored on an and-one and three players off the bench scored.
