Lady Whippets Pull Out Gutsy Overtime Victory

The Minden Whippets girls basketball team had its most serious threat to its undefeated record on Thursday when the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders showed up ready to play.
Minden shook off its worst shooting performance of the season on the road to force overtime and escape with a five point, 47-42, victory.
Minden improves its season record to 6-0.
The Lady Whippets shot a season-low 6 of 30 from the three-point line in the contest which gave the Crusaders life and the lead throughout most of the game.
In a low scoring affair, Minden and GICC were all tied up at 26-26 with 4:49 to play in the fourth period.
Jamie Kissinger gave Minden a 27-26 lead with a free throw and the game went back and forth with the Crusaders taking a three point lead, 33-30, with 1:47 to play in regulation.
Kissinger came through with a bucket to get Minden to within one, 33-32, with 1:28.
