Lady Whippets Third In SWC, Down Valentine In Consolation

The Minden Lady Whippets basketball team rebounded Saturday from its upset in the semifinals against Gothenburg on Thursday when the top-seeded team in the Southwest Conference defeated the second-seeded Valentine Badgers in North Platte to take third in the SWC girls tournament. The Whippets claimed third with a 62-53 win over the Badgers in the consolation game.

Minden improves its season mark to 15-3 with only three weeks remaining in the regular season. Minden will host Cozad Friday and get a shot at payback when Gothenburg returns to town on Saturday.
