Lavon A. Madsen, 81, of Minden, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Minden with the Rev. Joe Tira officiating. Interment will be held following services at the Fredericksburg Lutheran Cemetery south of Minden. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Craig Funeral Home in Minden. Memorials in Lavon’s honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of the arrangements.
Lavon Ann Madsen was born on May 29, 1940 in Minden to Clifford and Yetive (Whipple) Jacobsen. She grew up and attended school in Minden and graduated from Minden High School. Lavon was united in marriage to Merlin E. Madsen on May 28, 1960 in Minden and to this union, four sons were born: Lance, Randall, Perry, and John.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Minden and enjoyed following Husker football. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Lance Madsen of Minden, Randall Madsen of Kearney, and John Madsen of Oroville, CA; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Nadine Westwood of Lincoln; as well as a host of extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one son, Perry.
