Four local third grade girls helped ensure area children received gifts for Christmas with a sizable donation to the Santa’s Stockings program. Scarlet Rogers, Jade Melroy, Hallie Hartman, and Stella Birkestrand donated over $550 of products purchased with funds raised through a bake sale.
Around Thanksgiving, the girls decided they wanted to help area children who might not otherwise have Christmas gifts. Speaking with their parents about their idea, they learned about the Santa’s Stockings program and chose it as their avenue to give back
They organized a bake sale at Mason’s Market on November 30. Promoting their fundraiser on facebook and greeting shoppers at the store they had an amazing turnout and raised $560.
