Put on your costume and grab your treat bucket because there are plenty of local opportunities for Halloween fun on Monday, October 31.
Get started at the Halloween Kiddie Parade on the square sponsored by the Minden Chamber of Commerce. The parade begins at 3:45 p.m. in front of the Post Office. Participants will walk on the sidewalks in front of the stores around the square. Parents are asked to accompany their children. Be sure to bring bags for candy and treats.
Bethany Home in Minden will welcome trick or treaters on Halloween during these hours only: Nursing Home 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. No hallway trick or treating in Nursing Home; Assisted Living door to door 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Doors will have a poster stating “Trick or Treaters Welcome!” Bethany Home asks families with children to come into Bethany Home at one of the three entrances. Please read the new guidelines posted at each entrance in photo frames. A reminder of using best practices to when visiting Bethany Home with regards to having Covid and if you have been exposed to someone with Covid.Wilcox youth can enjoy the Wilcox Trunk or Treat event on Main Street from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. The Wilcox CIA will be serving hot dogs and chips during this time. Come out for a fun time.
Grow Hildreth will sponsor their annual Halloween Costume Contest at Wilcox- Hildreth Middle School beginning at 5:00 p.m. for children birth through 8th grade. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age division and door prizes for everyone. This event is sponsored by Grow Hildreth and Wilcox-Hildreth Community Childhood Initiative.
