Distribution of a vaccine against COVID-19 has begun with the initial phase offering the vaccine to health care personnel and residents of long term care facilities as determined by the State. Kearney County Health Services and Bethany Home are taking advantage of the prevention efforts a vaccine offers.
KCHS received 100 first round doses of the Moderna vaccine on December 22. The vaccine was administered to participating KCHS staff the following day with remaining doses offered to other health care personnel in the community. A second dose will be delivered to KCHS and administered within 28 days of the first dose. Bethany Home has contracted with Walgreens for residents to receive the vaccine.
