Marlene Schlenz

Marlene Fay Schlenz, age 57 of Glendive, Montana passed away peacefully at her home on December 16, 2020.  Memorial services were held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Break Forth Bible Church in Glendive, MT with Pastor Jeremy Vester officiating. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Marlene was born on January 28, 1963 in Minden, Nebraska to Leo Burdette and Lavonna Jean (Seward) Sorensen.  She was raised and educated in Minden, graduating from Minden High School with the class of 1981.  After high school, Marlene began her career in health care working as a C.N.A.  She lived in a few different towns in Nebraska before moving to Glendive in 2003 where she worked in the purchasing department at Glendive Medical Center.  Marlene also continued her work as a C.N.A. at nursing homes in the area as well as working at Kmart and a couple of different gas stations in town. She was most recently providing in-home care for residents in the Glendive area.

Marlene was united in marriage to Loren Schlenz in Glendive in 2017.

Marlene was beautiful, inside and out. She loved everyone and would do anything for anyone in need! She had a heart of gold, was sweet, funny and oh so stubborn. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping, watching the QVC shopping network, black bears and most of all, she loved spending time with her family and grand babies.

She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved dog, Skeeter. 

She is survived by her husband, Loren Schlenz of Glendive; six children, Stephen Sorensen of Branson, Missouri, Andrea Fickenscher of North Platte, Nebraska, Nicholas (Porchea) Edwards of Glendive, Nikita (Anthony) Morast of Glendive, Nathaniel Edwards of Glendive, Neil Edwards of Hettinger, North Dakota; 11 Grandchildren; two step children, Amanda (Chase) Olson of Williston, North Dakota, Lacy McCullough of Glendive; three sisters, Karen Sorensen, twin Arlene Rodenbaugh, Marjorie Dorn all of Lincoln Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews.
