Mayor Requests Citizens Take Action, Be Civil

Mayor Ted Griess asked the residents of Minden to take action during the April 1 meeting of the Minden City Council. “You’ve heard the expression ‘You can’t fight City Hall’, but in this case City Hall can’t fight the Railroad,” Griess said.
Griess, City employees and City Council members have fielded questions and concerns regarding the train blocking the intersection at Colorado Avenue for two weeks at the time of the meeting. Requests made by Griess to BNSF Railway to move the train cars enough to unblock the crossing were unanswered.
Griess asked that citizens contact BNSF Railway to express their concerns and ask that the cars be moved. He reminded residents to be civil in their communication.
