On May 5, Marv Meyer was honored at a luncheon by the Nebraska Bankers Association as a 50 year banker.
After graduating from dental school, Meyre served in the United States Air Force. Upon his discharge in 1959, he returned to his home town of Minden, Nebraska and began his dental practice. In June of 1966, Marv made his first investment in the bank by purchasing 10 shares of stock for $5,000. In January of 1967 he was first elected to the board of directors of the bank.
Marv commented on his tenure as director of the bank: I have a tremendous feeling of gratitude and commitment to the shareholders of First Bank and Trust Company who have annually elected me to serve their interest as a director on the bank board since January of 1966. During these years I have served with six different Presidents of the bank and an almost complete change of shareholders.
