The Minden High School Industrial Technology Department has received a $20,000 grant from The Rogers Foundation to help with the purchase of a laser engraver and dovetail machine. Industrial Technology instructors Rick Chramosta and Bob Carlson began seeking funding for the machines more than a year ago.
“This has been a several year project because of COVID. We applied for these grants a year and a half ago. Last year because of COVID those funds became unavailable and then they became available again this year so it’s been an ongoing project,” Carlson explained.
The Rogers Foundation grant was awarded in early May and made it possible to order the laser engraving system.
