Miller Leads Way At Kearney Invite

Meadowlark Hills Golf Course was the site of the 2017 Kearney Invite held on Friday. The winds were blowing and the temps stayed down for most of the morning creating very tough playing conditions for all teams. Norfolk won the team portion of the meet firing an outstanding 308 team score. Lincoln Southwest was four strokes back with a 312 while Minden did not record a team score due to only having three varsity players for the tournament.
Individually, for the Whippets, Thomas Miller led the way carding a 94 for the day and had identical 47s on both the front and back to give him his lowest score ever at Meadowlark Hills.
Jake Kuehn and Ethan Hanson both shot 97 for the day. Ethan’s front nine score of 43 was highlighted by back-to-back birdies on holes 1 and 2 propelling him to a 2-under start. Kuehn opened with a birdie but ran into some trouble on the long par three back into the wind.
