Minden All-Class Reunion Coming

The 2012 DAWG Days, organized by the Minden Chamber of Commerce, is happening July 26, 27 and 28 in Minden.
The event will run concurrently with the Minden High School All-Class Reunion.
On Thursday, July 26, there will be a DAWG Days Kiddie Parade for kids of all ages and their pets starting at 6:30 p.m. and culminating with the Ping Pong Ball Drop at Minden Opera House, sponsored by First Bank and Trust.
Approximately 150 ping pong balls will be dropped from the opera house balcony with numbers and letters on them corresponding to prices. The children can collect the balls and turn them in for their prize.
An ice cream social will be held at 7:00 p.m. following the distribution of prizes and a band concert will be held on the square, in conjunction with the reunion.
On July 27, the All-Class Bash will be held at the 4-H building and several classes will be holding their get individual get togethers throughout the day.
Also on July 27, there will be an art fair in the Fahrlander Yard at 775 West Brewster. The Kearney Art Guild and local artists have been invited to exhibit and sell their art from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will be cancelled in case of rain.
For Saturday, July 28, the Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a street dance featuring Sweetwater at the corner of 5th St. and Colorado. The beer garden will open at 6:00 p.m.
The All-Class Reunion Banquet will be at C.L. Jones with an All-Class Choir Performance at 6:30 p.m. and a speech from UNK Chancellor and Class of ‘73 member Doug Kristensen.

The Class of 1944 will meet at 6 p.m. at Red River on July 27.
The Class of 1949 will meet at Pioneer Restaurant on Saturday morning, July 28 at 9 a.m. for a breakfast buffet.
The classes of 1950-1959 will meet at the Minden Opera House on Friday, July 27, 2012. Social hour will be starting at 5:30 p.m. Buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. by Pioneer Restaurant. Reminiscing into the night! Send in your reservations to your class representative.
Class of 1958 will meet Friday, July 27, at 5:30 p.m. at Red River Steakhouse in Minden.
The Class of 1960 will be meeting at Mookies at 4 p.m., with dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 27. Those with questions, contact Peggy (Garrett) Pluim at (303) 567-1561.
The Class of 1961 will have a get-together Friday, July 27, at Minden Country Club, on the lower level starting at 5 p.m. Please bring a snack to share with drinks and visiting. Contact Joyce Peterson with questions at (308) 743-2250.
The 50-year Class of 1962 will be getting together for a social hour on Friday, July 27 starting at 5 p.m. at the Minden Country Club with dinner to follow at 7 p.m. All others are welcome after 8 p.m.
The class of 1965 will meet on July 27 in the Minden Exchange Bank community room  immediately after the All-Class Bash until midnight. Contact Jim Tomsen at 308-830-3298.

The class of 1967 will have its reunion dinner on Friday night, July 27 at Red River. Also, a new email address has been established for ‘67 tp submit their news updates, whether are or not they attend the reunion. That address is MHS.whippets.67@gmail.com.
The Class of 1972, meet at Minden Country Club at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 28. If you are coming, please bring an appetizer.
Class of 1977 will meet at the Andy Tomsen residence at 7 p.m. for a social gathering.

The class of 1983 will celebrate 29 years at Burchell’s Farmhouse Inn on Saturday, July 28 at 6 p.m.
The Class of 1987 will have a cocktail party at Jamie and Jenny (LaBrie) Madsen’s on Friday, July 27 at 7 p.m. and will be at Summer Haven Lake #6 at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 28. ‘92 will also have a family picnic on Saturday, July 28, at the Legion/Swimming Pool Park at noon. Bring your own food, drink and tableware.
