Minden Awardeed $95,000 In Grant Funds To Offer Free Compost To Residents

The City of Minden was recently awarded $75,000 in grant funds from the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy through their Litter Reduction & Recycling Grant and an additional $20,000 from the Nebraska Recycling Council, funded through the Nebraska Environmental Trust (NET). Both grants will go towards the purchase of a trommel screen. The total cost of the trommel screen is $108,095 and thus the net cost to the city is $13,095.

The grant process was a team effort as the grant funds would not have been awarded without letters of recommendation from Minden Public Schools and the FFA program, and Rita Crooks, Chairperson of the Beautification Committee.
