The Minden Band Parents are on a mission to help the Minden High School band better represent the school with new uniforms in the school colors. Fundraising campaigns for the purchase are already underway, but the Parents have a long way to go to reach their $60,000 goal.
Purchasing new uniforms will serve two purposes: replacing the old uniforms that are in disrepair and better representation of MHS by wearing school colors. The current MHS band uniforms are navy blue and more than 16 years old. The current uniforms were only meant to last for 12 years before being replaced and while they don’t see the frequent and destructive wear of football uniforms, their age has resulted in damage.
The Minden Band Parents met to discuss replacing the uniforms and identified the opportunity to select a whole new design and color scheme. The band parents will meet with a uniform supplier to narrow down design and color ideas with the final design to be voted on by the band students. Although the look hasn’t been determined yet, the parents agreed the uniform will include Whippet purple in some capacity.
