Minden Board Of Education Approves District Audit

The Minden Public Schools Board of Education met with a short agenda on November 8. Before getting to action items, the board opened the floor to public comment and heard administrator reports.

Jerry Kershner took advantage of the public comment forum to share his feelings on Policy 8346 with the board. Kershner stated he feels the policy is a restraint on the public by restricting public comment to agenda items only. He suggested offering a public forum with a time limit during meetings to allow the public to share their thoughts and concerns on any topic with the board.

Kershner also commended the administrators on the positive things taking place in their schools as noted in their reports to the board. He is especially excited for the One School, One Book program taking place at C.L. Jones Middle school as he says the book embodies the values of the country’s founders.
