Minden Boys Get Win Over Ainsworth, Fall to Valentine

The Minden Whippets and Ainsworth Bulldogs battled it out in their January 4 Southwest Conference game.

The Whippets came into the game with doubt creeping into their minds. They had lost both games at the Grand Island Northwest Tournament over the vacation. One season from a state appearance, the Whippets had more losses (5) than wins (4).

Minden travelled far north Friday evening and were led in a shoot-out by four starters. Senior RJ Watson totalled 24 points for the game and led both teams in rebounds (12), and he had a lot of help from juniors Jonas Lovin and Mitchell Muller–who had 18 and 11 points respectively–as well as fellow senior Isaac Carlson, who contributed 12 points.
