Minden Boys Move To 8-0 With 82-36 Win Over Bulldogs

The Minden Whippets boys basketball team was able to pick up a Southwest Conference victory on Friday when they hosted the Ainsworth Bulldogs in C.L. Jones Gymnasium.
The Whippets boys improved to 8-0 with the total demolition of Ainsworth 82-36. Carson Blum, RJ Watson and Derek Kissinger paced the Dawgs to the win with team-high in points with 16, 15 and 12 respectively.
The Whippets raced to a six point lead over the Bulldogs 16-10 after the first period. Minden was led in the quarter by Blum with 11 points while Kissinger dropped another five.
In the second period, Minden put more distance between themselves and Ainsworth. The Dawgs were able to score 19 points in the quarter led by Blum with five, Kissinger four and Isaac Carlson three.
The Bulldogs finished the first half with ten points as the Whippets went into halftime with a 35-17 lead.
The Whippets exploded for a season-best 30 points in the third period guided by a team-high 13 points from Watson while Christian Schwenka and Carlson had four points each.
Minden outscored Ainsworth 30-4 in the quarter to go into the fourth and final period with a commanding 65-21 lead.
The Whippets ended the game with a 17 point effort. The Dawgs were paced in the final eight minutes by Jonas Lovin and Thomas Sinsel with four each and Cole Gibbins three.
The Whippets went on for the 82-36 victory.
