Minden Boys See Deja Vu Loss to Cozad
Cozad’s boys won a SWC battle over Minden 54-49 at Minden on February 3. The result was eerily similar to that when the foes met in the conference tournament a little over a week earlier (Cozad 56-50). Minden dropped to 8-10.
The Whippets never led (tied twice in the first pe- riod) but stayed within eight for most of the first half until a late Haymaker run gave Cozad a 29-17 lead at in- termission. Carter Harsin scored nine in the half, Brycen Schwenka four.
Minden was down 15 four times and 16 twice in the third quarter but cut the gap to nine by the end of the third as Cozad led 48-39. Harsin scored seven, Seth Haus- erman five and Rylan Holsten four in the period. In the middle two quarters the Haymakers were pretty effi- cient shooting the ball— 17 for 24. Minden was 8 for 13 in the third.
