Minden Community Players Present “Annie” The Musical
The classic musical “Annie,” as performed by the Minden Community Players, is premiering at the Opera House on February 28 at 7:30 p.m. and will have several show dates in March.
Annie, played by Courtney Thompson, is an orphan who hopes that her parents will arrive someday and take her home.
Under the care of unsympathetic orphanage supervisor Miss Hannigan (Eileen Jahn), Annie searches for her parents on her own. After her attempt fails, Annie meets Grace Farrell (Carlie Bauer), assistant to billionaire Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks (Ken Vyvlecka), and Annie is invited to stay at the billionaire’s mansion. Although initially reluctant about Annie, Warbucks eventually begins to develop affection for the orphan and offers his help to find her parents.
“Annie” is based on the “Little Orphan Annie” comic strips and the book by Thomas Meehan.
The Minden Community Players production is directed by Don Phillips, with Glen Haselbarth directing the music and Dawn Thompson producing.
