Minden Cross Country Hosts Hastings

The Minden Whippets cross country teams hosted the Hastings Tigers in dual action on Sept. 13 at the Minden Country Club on Parent’s Night.
No team scores were kept.
Leading the way for the Minden boys was Chris Shelton who completed the shortened 4K boys course in second place in a time of 13:22.6
Shelton was followed by Trevor Jacobsen in fourth position in 14:13.1 and Rory Burchell in seventh place in 14:27.2.
Nicolas Brandt was 12th for the Dawgs in 15:21.9 followed by Dyllan Kuehn in 14th place in 15:25.6, Zack Rehtus 15th in 15:34.7, Alex Raun 19th in 16:02.5, Jay Richards 24th in 16:32.2, Collin Jensen 34th in 17:30.4, A.J. Horner 38th in 17:53.2 and Reid Yelken 39th in 17:54.
The Lady Whippets were led by Sydney Phillips (third place) and Jessica Dolan (fourth place) who covered the 1.86 mile course in times of 12:19.4 and 12:28.0 respectively.
Mackenzie Nelsen was sixth for Minden in a time of 12:56.5 while Samantha Hoskins was 16th in 14:16.6 and Jennifer Sorensen 20th in 15:21.4.
The Minden girls junior high runners were led by Sophie Pinkham in 11th place in 7:14.9 followed by Kimberly Strobel in 12th place in 7:20.9 and Isabella Van Dusen in 13th place in 7:25.1
The Minden boys junior high runners were led by winner and runner-up Leobardo Iniguez and Brian Linder in times of 5:31.2 and 5:32.5.
Francisco Jauregui and Landon Yelken were fourth and fifth in times of 5:46.9 and 5:57.2 followed by Michael Becker in seventh in 6:28.2 and Jacob Werner ninth in 6:44.6.
Cesar Gonzalez placed 13th in 7:00.9 followed by Thomas Landrum 14th in 7:09.3, Drew Hultquist 15th in 7:13.3, Riley Ratka 19th in 7:39.6 and Mathew Becker 20th in 7:43.3.
