Minden Girls Tie State Record For 3’s

The Minden Whippets girls basketball team tied a Nebraska State girls basketball record on Feb. 10 when they traveled to Wood River to take on the Eagles.
The Class C-1 third-rated Whippets easily defeated Wood River 77-34 to head into subdistrict with a 19-1 record.
“We are looking forward to subdistricts after finishing the season with a school record 19 wins during the regular season,” stated Minden head coach Rick Chramosta. “The girls appreciated all the support this season and during the raffle to support the team in Holdrege a few weeks ago.”
The Lady Whippets made 15 three-pointers in the contest which ties the state record according to the Nebraska School Activities Association previously held by Lincoln Southeast who also made 15 threes in 1999 and 2008.
