Minden Grapplers Third At Doniphan-Trumbull

The Minden Whippet wrestling team was on the road on Saturday traveling to Doniphan for the second annual 16-team Doniphan-Trumbull Invitational.

The Whippets fared well as a team finishing third overall scoring 103.5 points. Grand Island JV won the invite with 202.5 followed by Tri-County with 133.

Minden placed every wrestler that competed. Quin Rutt claimed the 170 pound title while Sam Fiest won the 182 pound crown.

Austin Olson took second at 106 followed by Colton Barton in third place at 170.

Jed Birnie was fourth at 160 while Phoenix Duffey was fourth at 220. Logan Preece was fifth at 285 and Bryce Erdman was seventh at 126.
