The Minden High School One Act team attended the Ord Play Production Festival on November 8 to begin the play production competition season. Before their next competition, the team will hold a public performance of their production “Silenced on Barbour Street” November 16 in the Minden High School Fine Arts Auditorium beginning at 8:00 p.m.
Silenced on Barbour Street, written by William Prenetta, is part historical drama, part mystery, and part psychological thriller. The ensemble driven one act play explores the factors that led to the 1944 fire that claimed 144 lives during the matinée performance of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus in Hartford, Connecticut. Fifteen victims of the tragedy must work together to face their guilt and deepest fears in order to escape from a sadistic ringmaster who has trapped them in a mysterious circus purgatory.
