Minden Public Schools will begin its classroom Agricultural Education program during the 2020-21 school year. Macie Wippel was appointed to the Ag Instructor position during the March 9 MPS Board of Education meeting.
“When I first heard that Minden was looking to start a program I was excited about the opportunity to apply because it is a smaller school and community,” Wippel said. “When I was in college I had an internship as a sales agronomist with Cargill in Alma. During this internship, I spent some time around Minden and really enjoyed how close the community is. When the opportunity for Minden Public Schools to start an agricultural program became available I knew I had to apply.”
Wippel grew up on a swine and row crop farming operation in Orient, Ohio where she and her family showed Berkshire pigs at the local, state, and national levels. She graduated from Purdue University in 2016 with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Education.
