Minden Is B-5 District Champs, Sending 10 To State
Minden hosted the B-5 District Speech Meet in Minden on March 12 at the high school. Other schools competing were Adams Central, Aurora, Broken Bow, Cozad, Gothenburg, Grand Island Northwest, and Holdrege.
Minden advanced 15 of their 18 events to the finals at the meet. Ten of those entries earned high enough ranking to qualify for the state speech meet to be held at the University of Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday, March 21.
Minden’s team earned the team sweepstakes championship plaque. Gothenburg took second. Minden’s results include:

2ND PLACE: Paul Christensen & Jared Sanford, Duet Acting; Shae Taylor, Quenton Timm, Lee Landrum, Morgan Linder, Nate Hunzeker, Oral Interpretation of Drama; Anisha Kuehn, serious prose
3RD PLACE: AJ Horner, Alex Nielsen, Collin Jensen, Carlie Bauer, Oral Interpretation of Drama; and Trevor Sorensen, Persuasive Speaking and Extemporaneous Speaking.
OTHER MEDALISTS:
