The Minden Little Free Pantry located on the east side of the old IGA parking lot on N. Nebraska Avenue is filling a need during the uncertain times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonperishable food items, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, and pet food are available to those in need 24 hours a day.
“We had worked with The Closet and Food Pantry for years. We were sad when their hours were reduced and then COVID-19 made access even harder,” Sharon Livingston said.
Sharing her concerns about the growing need for timely assistance during the reduced access to The Closet and Food Pantry, Livingston found others in the community who wanted to help. Michelle Edgecombe suggested a little free pantry like she had seen in other communities.
