Minden Meats Open For Business

With over 30 years experience in the meat cutting and custom pack industry,  new owner of Minden Meats, Gary Voss, is confident that the new business will fill a niche in the area.
Voss, of Broken Bow, began preparing the former Miska Meats processing plant for operation in late May of this year.  
“When I heard that Darrel Miska was interested in renting the plant, I came to take a look,” said Voss. “I feel there is a need for a meat processing plant in this area.  We started cleaning the end of May and have begun processing in earnest since the middle of July.”
In addition to cattle, Minden Meats also custom processes pigs, goats, sheep and deer.  
Voss stated although the size of the building limits his capacity, he can butcher 15 hogs a day and about 5 cows at the Minden plant.  “That’s about all I can do right now, but I plan on expanding as my market expands,” he said.
