Minden Rushes Past Jeffs

The Minden Whippet football team got its 2010 season underway with a non-district game, traveling to Fairbury to take on the Jeffs.
Minden broke open a tie after the first period to rush its way to a convincing 42-13 victory.
The Whippets will look to remain undefeated on Sept. 3 when they host the Gothenburg Swedes at Kuper Field with kick off set for 7 p.m.
“We were able to play a lot of younger players, hopefully giving them some confidence,” stated Coach Sam Dunn.  “I felt we played a decent game – we were able to cut down on mistakes, our defense played extremely hard and aggressive – stopping Fairbury on a 4th down attempt and also on a goal line situation. Coaches Lovin, Chramosta, and Martin are to be commended.”
