Minden School Board Rejects Outdoor Facilities Project Bids

The grandstand and lighting renovation project at Kuper’s Field has been postponed as the Minden Public Schools Board of Education rejected all bids during the June 10 regular meeting.
Two bids for the grandstand and one for lighting were received for the outdoor facility project. All of the bids were substantially higher than the budgeted price for the project. The higher bids were likely made to cover overtime costs associated with the short time frame given to complete the work.
Superintendent James Widdifield and W Design suggested rejecting the bids and looking at the project again in the Fall with a longer timeline. The board rejected all bids received on June 6 and directed the superintendent and the project architects to notify all bidders of the rejection.
