Minden Sixth In SWC

The Minden Whippets golf team was back in Cozad for a second time last week to compete in the 2012 Southwest Conference golf meet played at the Cozad Country Club.
The Whippets placed fifth in the team scoring with a team total of 336. Gothenburg and Broken Bow tied for the SWC team title with 318 each with the Swedes winning in a playoff.
Ogallala was third with 325 followed by Valentine with 328, Minden 336, Ainsworth 373 and Cozad 376.
The Dawgs had two golfers inside the top 20 participants led by Carson Blum and Derek Kissinger.
Blum led the Whippets with a eighth place overall finish with a score of 78. Blum scored a 41 on the front nine and came back with a 37 on the back.
