Minden Speech Qualifies Ten to State

The Minden High School Speech team earned the run- ner-up plaque at the B-5 District Speech Meet in Broken Bow on March 6. Sixteen of the team’s 20 events qualified for fi- nals and ten events qualified for the state tournament.

State qualifiers are: Evan Porter and Nathan Althouse, 1st place, Duet Acting; Grace Lee, 1st place, Humorous Prose; Grace Lee, 1st place, Serious Prose; Luke Johnson, 2nd place, Entertainment; Megan Althouse, 2nd place, Persuasive; Sam Cederburg, 2nd place, Extemporaneous; Sara Shirley, 2nd place, Poetry; Tucker Robinson, 2nd place, Humorous Prose; Nathan Althouse, 3rd place, Entertainment; and Sara Shirley, 3rd place, Program of Oral Interpretation.

The Nebraska 2023 State Speech Meet will be held on March 15 at Kearney High School.
