Southwest Conference, a rescheduled meet in Aurora, and the final regular season meet in Holdrege kept the Minden Speech team hopping during the last week of February. Despite the hectic schedule, the team performed well and brought home dozens of medals.
The team competed in the virtual Loup City Invite on February 20 and took runner up in both Novice and Varsity sweeps. Novice medal winners were: 1st place: Jessie Tunnell, Extemporaneous; Luke Johnson, Entertainment; 2nd place: Jessie Tunnell, Persuasive; 3rd place: Marah Dornhoff, Informative; 4th place: Alex Quintana, Humorous Prose; Haleigh Reid, Informative; 5th place: Dedric Cervantes, Entertainment. Varsity medal winners were: 1st place: Megan Althouse, Informative; Peyton Schoone, Entertainment; 2nd place: Jakoby Loibl, Humorous Prose; Raegan Horner, Evan Porter, and Sara Shirley, OID; Sara Shirley, Serious Prose; 4th place: Evan Porter, Informative; 5th place: Leah Livingston, Humorous Prose; Raegan Horner, Poetry; 6th place: Sara Shirley, Poetry; 7th place: Andre Casillas, Serious Prose; Brooks Glanzer, Extemporaneous; 8th place: Peyton Schoone and Connor Carpenter, Duet Acting; 9th place: Alaina Suchsland, Informative; 10th place: Alaina Suchsland and Abby Fiske, Duet Acting; 11th place: Abby Fiske, Persuasive; 12th place: Evan Porter, Extemporaneous.
