Minden Speech Team Continues The Tradition Of Excellence

The Minden Speech team is continuing the tradition of excellence this season.
A new group of talented freshman and sophomores have helped the team rebuild and the future looks bright for the speech team.
“We’ve had a really good season,” said Coach Jeffery Horner. “A lot of medalists and solid finishes throughout the year. I’ve been very pleased.  We lost a very good group of seniors last year and the kids have come up from the lower classes and really taken the lead to do well.  We had a really good freshman group that came in this year and some sophomores that weren’t in speech last year so we’ve have some new ones that did a really nice job this year.   In fact, at the two meets that we went to that did team sweeps our novice kids won both of those meets quite handily.  They won the Aurora meet and the Loup City meet.”
As in any sport, it takes hours of practice and a high level of commitment to excel in the speech program.  Speech competitors have to be willing to invest a great deal of their time to perfecting their presentation if they want to be successful.
