The Minden girls volleyball team’s incredible season added a little bit of championship hardware on October 20 where the Whippets emerged victorious in the SWC tournament. The tournament was some stiff competition featuring the likes of McCook, Ogallala and Gothenburg. Not only were the Whippets able to come away with a championship at the tournament but they were able to get a measure of revenge on Gothenburg who was one of Minden’s two losses on the season.
The first game of the tournament saw Minden Whippets take on McCook Bison where Minden was able to handle the Bison in two sets 25-13 and 25-16. Sophomore Mattie Kamery handprint was all over this game as she led the way for Minden totaling ten kills, ten assists, two aces, and eight digs. Freshman Myla Emery also played a big role for the Whippets totaling nine kills, thirteen assists and nine digs.
